SSA’s Student Presentation Award to Mauricio Reyes Canales
Mauricio Reyes Canales obtained SSA’s Student Presentation Award for his presentation at the Seismology of the Americas held in May. His presentation title is “Monte Carlo Simulations for Analysis and Prediction of Non-Stationary Magnitude-Frequency Distributions in Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis“
2018 CSEG Best Student Oral Presentation Awards to Marco Venieri and Scott McKean
Marco Venieri (co-supervised by Per Pedersen and David Eaton) won the 2018 Best Student Oral Presentation at the Geoconvention for his presentation entitled “Influence of sedimentary facies on geomechanical properties in the Duvernay Formation, Fox Creek area, AB, Canada?. (This is a hat-trick for Marco – the 3rd year in a row he has been recognized for Best Student paper award at the Geoconvention).
Scott McKean also won the 2018 Best Student Oral Presentation at the Geoconvention for his presentation entitled “A geomechanical comparison of the Duvernay and the Montney“.
Participants needed: Oil and Gas Survey
The University of Alberta is conducting a public survey on the Oil and Gas Industry in Western Canada. Survey is completely anonymous and will take about 15-20 minutes to complete. Please go to the website below for more information and to participate!
We are interested in your views and experiences with the oil and gas industry in western Canada! Results will be shared with industry and regulators, and may inform policy recommendations.
